Full moons help us recognize the contrast between the external world and the emotional self — bringing out deep feelings as opportunities to make amend and adjust our actions and behavior. The eclipse last month brought up our messy and shameful feelings; it shocked and reset our system. It was brutal. But in the process, I think we can see ourselves more clearly.

Moving away from the chaotic eclipse energy, we arrive at this full moon in Sagittarius. Sun in Gemini, opposite Moon in Sagittarius, bring up the contrast between your thoughts vs your beliefs; data vs. Meaning; the tree vs. the forest; the stars vs. the constellation, and how you talk vs. your truth and vision. Ruled by Jupiter, the moon in Sagittarius is related to the big lessons in life; what can we learn here?

  • Trusting oneself, truth, and philosophy;

  • Developing a sense of freedom and adventure, and

  • Expanding the ability for growth

Moon in 13˚ Sagittarius 18’ opposite Sun in 13˚ Gemini 18’ on June 4 at 11:24 am HKT.

Sagittarius Moon is about what life could be, and sometimes that can be depressing because we’re living this reality, not what it could be. But this full moon is ruled by Jupiter and its sextile to Saturn in Pisces, which invited to make a plan (Jupiter) and put in the hard work (Saturn). Saturn is a manifesting planet. And the dance between the two of them has both creative and practical elements. It’s lovely if you are willing to work with that.

And you’re likely to have tons of ideas because also on this chart, Mercury conjuncts Uranus is restless and fickle; it produces thousands of ideas per minute. Something that you probably haven’t considered before. And Mars square Jupiter is impulsive and goes whatever way they want. So you are willing to give your ideas a chance instead of letting them fizzle out. And that’s not it; Venus forms an out-of-sign opposition with Pluto, and that suggests power struggles, suspicion, and confrontations between close relationships. It’s like you’re willing to look bad to prove a point with this. Instead of being stuck in the social construct.

The combination of energy promotes sharp-tongue, risky and obsessive-compulsive behaviors. And it isn’t good or bad. It can be helpful if you generally struggle to express yourself. But it is a challenging condition for listening. How do we be open-minded when we think we have all the answers? Or you are restless about coming up with solutions that you search online for clues, reading a few (more like a thousand) blogs or tweets on healing or fixes. While searching for answers seems productive, it is just another form of procrastination and disassociation. Because without real understanding, doing the work or having the patience to listen to your deeper emotional needs is like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.

So tuning into your emotional truth and personal principles is the key to this Full Moon.

The full moon in Sagittarius challenges us to look at our beliefs, not our thoughts. And take account of them. Your beliefs are the unconscious driving force of your life. Your beliefs are validating, and they help make sense of the complex world, while it can be prone to errors and misjudgment. I am not saying you shouldn’t trust yourself. It’s kind of like how every civilization has picked up a few stars and made up constellations and stories about them. Looking up at the sky at night, there isn’t really a Big Dipper. The concept is created by our imagination and intuition. But knowing where the Big Dipper is essential to find the North Star. Knowing the location of the North Star helps us find our direction, forecast the changes of seasons, and map out large-scale construction before building them. It’s a big deal. How you make sense of the world becomes the guiding principle of your life, and they are the shortcut for making an important decision because you can locate your North Star.
